Melissa Freeman
Director of Strategic Projects, The Oregon Community Foundation

Bio: Melissa serves as the Director of Strategic Projects for The Oregon Community Foundation. She is currently leading the Foundation’s five-year Children’s Dental Health Initiative and facilitates the Oral Health Funders Collaborative of Oregon and Southwest Washington. In addition, she directs the board’s efforts to improve Oregon’s economic vitality. Strategies include support for entrepreneurs, impact investing, publishing the Oregon Capital Scan, and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources. Prior to OCF, she directed a national health promotion program for athletes at Oregon Health and Science University that was supported by Sports Illustrated and the National Football League’s Youth Football Fund. Melissa is an Oregonian who has benefitted from Oregon’s public education system, graduating from Lincoln High School in Portland, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and her Master of Public Health degree at Portland State University.
