Al Johnson
Retired Land Use Attorney

Al is a retired land use attorney now living in Bend. He has represented a wide range of public and private-sector clients throughout Oregon. From 1993 until his retirement in 2010, he represented Bandon Dunes through the master planning and land use entitlement process for the resort. Other work on the south coast has included Bandon Commons townhouses, public acquisition of Coquille Point, the future of Coos Head, and expansion of the Brookings urban growth boundary. As an LCDC hearings official in the late 1970’s, Al heard appeals involving the South Slough Sanctuary, estuary plans, and coastal goals. Al’s family has had a vacation townhouse, affectionately known as Camp Gramarama, overlooking Harris Beach State Park in Brookings since 1989.
